WHAT IS AN ECG?

An ECG records the rate of your heart beat. It records the electrical activity of your heart. The letters ECG stands for electrocardiogram.



WHY DO I NEED AN ECG?

You may need an ECG if your doctor wants to know how fast your heart is beating. Your doctor can tell the rate (number of times your heart beats in one minute) from the results which are printed onto paper.
